Sooner

This is Sooner.
Sooner was a confidant, consoler, and defender.
He was of mixed parentage, but that never seemed to matter to His Children.
When his Children's parents brought me his photos, every one had a child along with him.
He was a staunch defender of his little charges and their possessions.
Once when their bicycle was being "borrowed", he held the little "thieves" by their pants until they were rescued and the bike was saved.
He lived for sixteen long happy years in an era when eleven was considered an old dog.
He is remembered with much love and affection.
Dogs have been beloved companions for so many thousands of years of children.
This is a little painting, painted by an unknown artist. It is thought to be painted around 1835.
So many dogs and so many children.
Makes me so happy.
