Champ

This is Champ.
Champ started his life as a "give away" He would never be considered a "give away" now. This sweet boy has 3 little children that love him dearly. He is a babysitter, watchdog, and an occasional bed warmer when his Grandmother comes to town. A dog on a warm hearth, how comforting.
This is a portrait from Pitochry Scotland, circa 1910. It was painted by a wonderful English artist named Mauguerite Collyer.

  1. Your painting of Champ and your comments about him warm my heart Dottie. How comforting he must be to grandmother and all who know him.

  2. You are SO right, Karen! I'm the grandmother to this wonderful companion. He is truly a champion. He lets the three grandchildren roll and play all over him and never complains. Most of the time he won't even move away from them. He comes up to me and lays his beautiful black head on my knee and seems to peer into your soul. I specifically got a low shedding dog as I don't "do" dog hair. Champ is only one of two dogs I would let shed in my house. The other is also a grand dog that Dottie painted. Thank you, Dottie, for your wonderful talents and gifts!
