Murphy

This is Murphy.
Murphy lives in Valdosta Georgia. He is the Beloved Boy of a young married couple. I love the beautiful colors of a Golden Retriever. This painting glows because the colors of Murphy's coat and the pillows are complementary colors. They are opposite each other on the color wheel. If you want your colors on a painting to "pop", look at a color wheel. Use colors that are directly across each other. I have an old framed needlework sampler that says, "A home should be lived in, and dogs should be on sofas." I would let this beautiful boy on my sofa any time. Life is short. Sofas can be cleaned.
This is a painting of a Golden Retriever by Maude Earl, circa 1800.
